Annual Generator Services

Every fall from October 1st until Thanksgiving we service every generator on our list of generator clients.

This is a flat rate visit.

In early September, our office will reach out to everyone on our list confirming upcoming annual services.

If you want to confirm you are on our list for the upcoming fall, please fill out the communication box at the bottom of this page.

Our Service Procedure

  • Record the total engine hours upon our arrival, for our records. Remember, if between our annual services, your generator runs for a cumulative 100hrs you need to change your own oil.

  • Note the oil level upon our arrival.

  • Change the oil with fully synthetic 5-30w and replace the oil filter.

  • Check the air filter, and replace it if need be. This usually does not have to happen every year.

  • Check the spark plugs, to make sure they are healthy.

  • Check the valves, they may need adjustment.

  • Check the generator load running on L1 and on L2

  • While the unit is running, we will check the generator voltage of L1 to neutral, L2 to neutral, and L1 to L2

  • Make sure the electrical connections are all tight.

  • Check the health of the battery, and keep in our records the year your battery was installed. If a new battery may be needed next year, we will let you know.

  • Make sure the unit is free of debris, and note if there has been any rodent activity. It is a good idea for you to check this periodically throughout the year as well.

  • Make sure the generator base is still level, make small adjustments, or let you know if a larger adjustment may be necessary.

  • Note of what controller firmware version you have and check our records to see if an update is needed.
