When is my generator supposed to exercise?

Every Tuesday @ 2pm for 6 seconds

April 1st & September 1st @ 2pm for 45 minutes

What do I do when the generator runs for a cumulative 100 hours?

  • Check your oil (instructions below)

  • Check your propane

Remember! Propane is not delivered automatically

What if my generator stops during a power outage or doesn’t exercise?

  1. When was the last time you got fuel?

  2. Have you reset the generator? Instructions below

  3. Has it been exactly a year since we maintenanced? 

How do I know if my generator is good right now?

  • All information is on the control board screen on generator

  • Will say “fault” if one is present

  • Reset your generator: 90% of the time this will fix the problem

How to Reset your Generator

  1. Turn switch off on the back of the generator 

  2. While sliding red safety up (safety is finicky) turn switch on

  3. Access generator control board 

    • Located under lid (opening instructions below)

  4. Turn breaker off and back on

    • Located above control board 

  5. Put the generator in auto mode

    • Find 3 buttons on control board: auto button is the far right button.

    • Button says “auto/manual”

Once reset: if you’ve lost power, the generator should start right up again OR if it failed to exercise, wait for the next one. If the issue persists, contact us.  

How to Remove Lid & Check Oil

You must remove lid to access dipstick

  1. Press down on lid just above turn key

  2. Then turn the key and lift lid 

  3. To re latch lid: press the lid down  as you turn the key, to make sure the latch engages (this can be finicky)

Type of oil: fully synthetic 5-30w

Max capacity: 1 quart of oil when empty: add cautiously
